Lavender Sugar Scrub:
4-6 drops Essential Lavender Oil
1 1/3 cup Olive Oil (organic, cold-pressed)
1 cup Sugar

Directions: Mix 4-6 drops of essential lavender oil into olive oil, then mix in 1 cup of sugar. For best results, use mid-way through bath or shower, after skin is softens from being in water.

Benefits of Lavender Oil:
According to Cuppingtherapy.org’s Aromatherapy Essential Oil Reference Chart, lavender oil is antimicrobial, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, pain relieving, calming, balancing, and emotionally combats feelings of anxiety, insomnia, depression, and fear. Essential oils are very strong, meaning you only need a few drops of the essence to experience all of the benefits. The lavender oil will help soothe your skin, reduce redness & inflammation, and will heal any existing blemishes on your skin.

Benefits of Olive Oil:
Olive oil is rich in vitamin E, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and filled with antioxidants to help combat against wrinkles and an uneven skin tone. Olive oil helps soften and restore your skin’s natural moisture levels, leaving your skin feeling hydrated and smooth.

Benefits of Sugar:
Sugar acts as a gentle exfoliant in this scrub. Sugar has no direct benefits for your skin, but it’s gentle nature and natural stickiness makes it a great option if you are prone to sensitivity. The round even granules will protect your skin from being damaged while exfoliating, and the result is skin that is smooth to the touch.

This scrub is safe to use on your face, but be gentle! I strongly recommend that you don’t use an abrasive scrub on your delicate facial tissue. Instead, go for another mask that gently and effectively exfoliates your face with a softer agent, like whole wheat flour (try: Skin Brightening Facial).
